The branch also supports the national mission of education through the lifespan with programs of interest to the members and the public.  In its early years, the branch met on an irregular basis, with a member presenting a topic of interest.  Over the years, this has evolved to present monthly programs featuring not only members, but also speakers from the community.  Recent topics have included such programs as immigration concerns, funding for the Board of Education of Frederick County, and local authors and artists.
